Sculptor Information for March 1, 2008 Sculpture Challenge (3rd annual)
This is an outdoor event. Carved Stone, Inc. is situated on fenced acreage in a rural setting. Each sculptor/artist is responsible for their own safety and property.
This year Sculpture Challenge is not restricted to stone. Other media are acceptable.
Sculpture must be priced and available for purchase.
Price your sculpture to include a 20% commission to benefit PAWS.
This year there is no entry fee for sculptors to enter one sculpture. Sculptors are encouraged to demonstrate and honor the 20% commission if a sale occurs on event day.
Sculptors wishing to exhibit more work for sale may purchase an artist’s booth. Purchasing an artist’s booth allows sculptors to sell works without the 20% commission request in the Challenge.
Sculptors/artists handle their own sales and are responsible for their own taxes. Event is held in Hays County, sales tax rate is 7%.
In order to keep the Challenge exhibit fresh, only sculpture not previously entered in the Challenge, please. Previous works may be exhibited in artist’s booth.
Finished sculpture should be in place before dusk the Friday before event.
Sculpture not sold during the event may be removed by sculptor after show ends or at another date during normal business hours or at an arranged time.
If sculpture is not removed, Carved Stone, Inc. may sell the sculpture and keep 30% of commission.
Carved Stone Inc. has a 5,000 lb. capacity fork lift to assist with loading and unloading. Sculptor must be present to supervise and accepts all responsibility.
